Power
of nature Prosperia Publishing began, literally, as the result of a hurricane. |

In October 2005, my book Women who
Win at Work was at the printer in Florida when suddenly Hurricane
Wilma destroyed the complex that housed both printer and publisher. Overnight
I became corporately devastated. With book signings scheduled, promotional
pieces ready, press kits with reviewers, website polished—all horses
were lined up at the gate, poised and tense for the sound of the gun. But
no gun. The horses relaxed; they looked around. |

As a graphic
designer and writer, using my strong media background in both print and
web, I set out to do what I vowed I never would do: self-publish. Prosperia’s
first titles includeWomen who Initiate
Ideas, a workbook to develop business creativity, Women
who Write about Work, a digest of businesswomen’s body of
knowledge, Women who Leave Legacies
expands upon the advice of previous generations, and Women
who Secure Support with contributors advice forming a self-seminar. |
Publishing
pioneer Enamored with reading onscreen and design for less paper, the PDF format is ideal. |

Few organizations
create publications to be both read onscreen as well as printed selectively.
PDF publications offer both when designed well (especially with minimal
screen scrolling and light ink coverage for printing). Yet, there is always
an appeal for a book’s tangibility: accessible, portable, and tactile.
The mesh between media is a creative thinker’s paint box. What matters
is the content, how the words and visuals go together, and what these say
to the reader. |
Focus
on strategy Encapsulating wisdom from 500 authors, comparing ideas is a preoccupation. |

I’ve
read over 200 books by and for businesswomen, covering most best sellers.
The other almost And I’ve read another 300 business authors, comprising
most of the classics. Much of my publishing is based on comparative quotations—where
readers can choose to explore which authors most resonate. Through both
my reading and my experience in publishing and business, I have created
rewarding explorations. See my Wise
Women Collection bookstore. |
Power
of change Goals can be met more than one way! |
